Back-End Developer with Java for Samsung Wallet Project

About our Team

Samsung R&D Institute Poland is looking for Java Back-end Developer, for the team working on Samsung Wallet solutions. The project team covers full product scope – from payment solution and Digital Identity, to the value added services (tickets, membership cards etc.). If you would like to work on innovative solutions from ideation, through proof of concept, to the commercialization phase, come and join us.

Mobile Payments are already revolutionizing the market. Digital ID is going to change the way we interact between our offline and online life. We’re looking for a Software Engineer passionate not only about software development but also about innovative solutions, which can change our everyday life. Role and Responsibilities

  • Development of backend for PoC and commercial Digital ID solutions
  • Support commercialization phase of Wallet App for EU region
  • Implement and maintain security and data protection measures
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of software engineering best practices
  • Supporting full software development lifecycle of solution backend
  • Participate in international meetings
  • Research about innovative Digital Identity/ authentication solutions

  • Java, JEE, Spring-Boot, ReactiveX
  • RDBMS, noSQL, Messaging System, Caching System
  • AWS, Docker
  • Git, Jira, Confluence

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a JEE developer
  • Very good knowledge of JEE, Spring, REST API, SQL, noSQL
  • Knowledge of Messaging and Caching Systems
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies at least good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Knowledge of the Linux environment
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in: preferably computer science, telecommunication, other STEM field
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to write clean and high quality code
  • Good English and Polish - communication level

Nice to have

  • Python backend development
  • Knowledge of Kotlin
  • Basic experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with mobile payments solutions (MDES, VTS)
  • Knowledge of mobile security and cryptography topics
  • Familiar with data protection best practices
  • Familiarity with various Digital ID related specifications and technologies (e.g. ISO mDL, Verifiable Credentials, OpenID, FIDO)
  • Familiarity with decentralized technologies (e.g. Rust, Hyperledger)
