Internship - Java Intern for IoT Solutions

Samsung R&D Institute Poland is looking for Intern Java Backend Developer, for the team working on SmartThings Pro and EHS projects - building IoT solution development. If you would like to work on innovative solutions from ideation, through proof of concept, to the commercialization phase, come and join us.

We're highly specialized team in developing of modern tools for buildings environment control. Our solutions provide convenient and highly advance IoT technology for controlling human comfort and energy consumption efficiency of commercial and residential buildings. We’re looking for a Software Engineer passionate not only about software development but also about innovative solutions, which can change our everyday life. Role and Responsibilities

  • Development of backend commercial solutions and PoC in IoT area
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of software engineering best practices
  • Supporting full software development lifecycle of backend solutions
  • Participate in international meetings and workshops
  • Research about innovative solutions

Technologies in use

  • Java 11, Spring-Boot
  • PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ
  • Azure, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Git, Jira, Confluence

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Java and Spring
  • Knowledge of Microservice Architecture
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferable Azure)
  • Knowledge of REST API, SQL
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies at least good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Knowledge of the Linux environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to write clean and high quality code
  • Sc. or M.Sc. degree in (current enrolment): preferably computer science, telecommunication, other STEM field
  • Good English and Polish - communication level

Nice to have

  • Experience in collaboration on projects (University projects, Team collaboration)
  • Familiarity with related technologies Redis, RabbitMQ,
  • Familiarity with CI/CD based on: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Spring Security and OAuth
