Java Backend Developer for IoT Solutions

About our Team

Samsung R&D Institute Poland, is looking for experienced engineer, for the team working on the development of business services based on Cloud architecture.

Our team is dedicated to help customers tackle global energy crisis, by providing innovative Building IoT solutions. We develop systems for more efficient and sustainable management of building infrastructure. It allows customers control various types of devices in commercial buildings (HVAC - Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning systems, automation devices, sensors, energy management etc.).

The team works on full process from business analysis through design of architecture, UX/UI and implementation of both backend and frontend - your role would be to contribute as a Java Backend Developer.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining new and existing services and apps
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of software engineering best practices
  • Participate in designing and building of Cloud based IoT solution
  • Working on new features proposals

Technologies in use

  • Java, Spring-Boot
  • RDBMS, Messaging System, Cache System
  • Azure (App Service, Virtual Machine, Networks)
  • Git, Jira, Confluence

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 years in Java Spring or JEE backend development, 4 years in software development
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Ability to write clean and high quality code
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Sc. or M.Sc. degree in: preferably computer science, telecommunication, other STEM field
  • Good English and Polish - communication level

Nice to have

  • Practical experience in Azure or other Cloud Computing solutions
  • Knowledge of NoSQL
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies
  • Practical experience in monitoring services and apps
